Kenneth Edward Schimek passed away on June 7th, 2026 at the age of 66.

Kenneth is preceded in death by Claude and Clara Schimek, parents.

Kenneth is lovingly remembered by his siblings:Judy Engelhardt, James (Jim) Schimek, Nancy Connelly, Connie Pyfferoen, Sharon Behnken, Patricia (Pat) Aldis, Darlene Hanson, Katherine (Kathy) Behnken, Theresa Behnken, Michael Schimek, Ann Schimek, Helen Larson. He will also be remembered by 25 nieces and nephews and 33 great nieces and nephews.

Kenneth was born in Caledonia, MN on September 4th, 1959. He grew up and lived in the Byron area his entire life.

Kenneth was inspired to continue the work that he had learned with his Dad. He established Ken Schimek Construction and spent his life building and sustaining that excavation business. He had the drive and passion to keep his business thriving. While he was a business owner, he was also a teacher. He passed down his knowledge from his years of experience.

Outside of enjoying big trucks and equipment, Kenneth enjoyed fishing, wildlife and nature, and time up north. He always had a good project in the works that was thought out with meticulous detail.
