Lawrence (Larry) Eugene King passed away peacefully on July 6, 2024, at the age of 86 in Rochester, MN. He was born on March 26, 1938, to Albert and Margaret (Maggie) King of Racine, MN, and was the oldest of 5 children, Albert Dale , Marlys Anderson, Darrol King , and Carol Aswegan .

Larry attended grade school in Racine, MN, and graduated from Stewartville High School. He joined the Air Force in June of 1955, serving his country as an airplane mechanic and refueler.

In 1958 he met Sonja Gail Iverson of Hayfield MN, and they married on August 14,1959 and were married for 65 years. They had three children, Mark King, Chris Kurtz, and David King. Larry worked for Water Instruments and later transferred to their Raleigh NC location. The worked for Cramer Electronics in Milwaukee, WI. , and then moved back to the Rochester area in 1974 to work for Electro Assembles until retirement.

In retirement, Larry and Sonja enjoyed traveling, showing horses, camping, riding ATVs , and most of all, his family, and pets . He loved farm life (35 years) with his horses, dogs, and cats , most cherished were Buddy and Martha. Larry is survived by his wife Sonja, children Mark Kin g (Sandy Kuseth ) , Chris Kurtz (Dale), and David King (Jody Radke) , siblings Marlys Anderson, Darrol King (Judy), and Carol Aswegan (Marlow) , grandchildren Travis Kurtz (Cat) , Cassy Koch (Luke) , Trevor Kurtz (Marisa Yennie) , and Tyler King (Jamie) , and great-grandchildren Ryan, Christian, Madison, Aydan, Noah, and Madison.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother.
