Obituary

LeAnne Kay Mattison, 86, was called home by her Lord and Savior on February 4, 2021.

LeAnne was born June 18, 1934 in Lamberton, MN. She had a large family of eight siblings.  Her mother who was a church organist instilled in her a love for music which she enjoyed her entire life. LeAnne graduated from Lamberton High School in 1950. On November 22, 1952, she married Ken Mattison in Lamberton. They lived in Virginia, MN, Hibbing, MN and Rochester, MN until 1965 when they moved to Rock Dell, MN. In 1968, they moved to a farm near Rock Dell where they farmed until Ken passed away in 2002. LeAnne was a bookkeeper at the Rock Dell Creamery for 30 years. She stayed on the family farm until 2017 when she moved to Rochester.

LeAnne enjoyed singing and playing the piano all throughout her life. She sang in the church choir, cantatas, community choir and at the Eagles Cancer telethon. LeAnne was also actively involved in many church activities including: Sunday School Teacher, Ladies Aid, VBS Teacher, Lutefisk Suppers and pot lucks. LeAnne also enjoyed reading, word searches and working in her garden on the farm. LeAnne's family was her pride and joy. Whether she was cooking a Christmas feast, attending her children's school events, playing with her grandchildren or simply going for a quiet ride in the country, she always made you feel loved. LeAnne always had a positive attitude and a sense of humor throughout her life. Above all, LeAnne was a strong Christian woman with a deep faith in her Lord.

LeAnne is survived by her children, Brad (Joliene) Mattison of Rock Dell, Brian Mattison of Rock Dell, Brenda Mattison of Byron, Brent (Myrna) of Rochester; five grandchildren, Seth (Kristen) Mattison, Katie Bundgaard, Jessica (Jared) Heldt, John and Josh Mattison; four great-grandchildren, Caydence and Cameron Bundgaard, Jack and Vivian Heldt; siblings, Steven Werner and Barbara Meteer.

LeAnne was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Adele Werner; husband, Ken; sons, Michael and infant son; brothers, George, Jimmy, Robert, Dennis, David Werner and sister, Jean Spitzer.

The family wishes to thank the staff at River Bend Memory Care and Mayo Hospice for all their loving care and kindness given to LeAnne.

Due to COVID precautions, a private memorial for immediate family will be held on Saturday, February 13 th at 3:00pm. A live-stream will be available for the public to view.  The feed will be available through the Byron Funeral Home's Facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/byronfuneralhome ).  Burial will be in East St. Olaf Cemetery in Rock Dell, MN at a later date.
