Mary Pearle Scripture (Olson), age 71, longtime resident of Kasson, MN, passed away February 11, 2026 with her daughter by her side at their home following a lengthy illness. Mary was born March 28, 1954 to Donald and Mary Iona (Miner) Olson in Dubuque, Iowa as the third of four children. She graduated from Hayfield High School in 1972, and worked for Power Span in Hayfield and then the Mayo Clinic – Rochester until her retirement. She will be forever loved and remembered.

She married Dennis Wagoner March 1, 1975, and they had one daughter together, Melissa Miller (Pries), in addition to Dennis's son from a previous marriage, Andrew Wagoner. They divorced in 1982. She then met Thomas Scripture and they blended their families by marriage on March 16, 1985.

Mary enjoyed watching game shows, cooking shows and HGTV. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren lovingly called her Nanny and would climb on the couch with her to read books and watch shows.

She is survived by her siblings Lynne Heuton, Don "Ted" and Richard (Narin) Olson; daughter, Melissa (Asa) Miller and step-children, Andrew (Rhonda) Wagoner, Elijah (Melanie) Scripture, and Cameron (Christine) Scripture; grandchildren Katrina, Haley (Hunter Rudlong), and Tyler Pries, Violet, Thomas, Mason, Liam, and Liliana Scripture; and great-grandchildren Avery Pries, Eva Sheldon, and Oliver Pries-Sheldon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Olson and Mary Iona Mortenson; her ex-husband, Dennis Wagoner; her husband, Thomas Scripture; her longtime partner Dave Watson; and grandchild, Zachary Wagoner.

Our family is grateful to know that Mary is finally at peace.

A Celebration of Life for Mary will be held at the Kasson American Legion on February 21 from 2pm to 5pm.
