Ronald Clarence Fogelson, 83 of Fort Myers Beach, Florida, formerly of Byron, passed away at Seasons Hospice House, in Rochester, Minnesota on Sunday, June 10, 2018.
Ron was born on September 17, 1934 to Clarence and Alice (Wunderlich) Fogelson in Richland Township, Rice County, Minnesota. He graduated from Kenyon High School in 1952 and married Kay Miller in 1953. The couple moved to Oregon where Ron worked as a cowboy on a fifteen-thousand-acre ranch, branding cattle and riding the range. The couple eventually raised their four sons in Kenyon, Faribault and Byron.
Ron was General Manager of the 7-Up Bottling Company in Rochester, Minnesota, before retiring in 1992.
He enjoyed playing golf, tennis and snowmobiling with family and his Faribault and Ft. Myers Beach buddies. He loved spending time with his sons and other family members on fishing trips to Canada. Ron enjoyed being Captain of his Bluewater, "Fogies Folly", in Wabasha, where he and Kay spent many weekends and summers living on the boat. He especially enjoyed time with his 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
Ron enjoyed volunteering at his Fort Myers Beach, Florida home, where he and his buddy Andy continuously worked to beautify the grounds. His creative work can still be seen and appreciated.
Ron was a participant in Mayo Clinic's neurological and AFIB studies.
Ron is survived by his wife, Kay who together recently celebrated 65 years of marriage; four sons, Steve (Wendi) of Bemidji, Ron (LeAnn) of Alexandria, Randy (Tammy) and Dave (Tracie) both of Byron; 10 grandchildren, Jeremy, Mike, Scott, Melissa, Megan, Jackie, Jay, Bryce, Amanda, Ryan and 21 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harold of Kenyon and two sisters, Verlaine Duncan of Rochester and Harriet Gloss of Page AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Marjean Urness, and a brother, Leonard.
Memorials are suggested to Seasons Hospice.
